In a message he issued for the new year, President Erdoğan said: “We endeavor to bring the peace efforts in our region to fruition. We advance our relations with our friends in every area. Our hearts are saddened by the troubles of our brothers and sisters. We support every effort aimed at preparing the world for a better, fairer and more prosperous future.”

 

 


 

 

 

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a new year message:

“My glorious nation, I greet you all with love from the bottom of my heart. Tonight, we are completing 2023 and stepping into 2024. I wish that the new year will lead to auspicious outcomes for our country, nation and the whole humanity.

 

 

 

In fact, we believe that every year should be marked with joy, hope and enthusiasm. However, we are entering this year in a bitter manner due to the unpleasant incidents in both our region and the world as well as to our martyrs we lost recently. Obviously, we preserve our hope for a better, more peaceful and more prosperous future for the whole humanity.

 

 

 

“WE ENDEAVOR TO BRING THE PEACE EFFORTS IN OUR REGION TO FRUITION”

For this to happen, we must first see that so-called democrat and libertarian countries stop supporting murderous terrorist organizations. For this to happen, we must first see that all the countries and institutions display a common stance against the massacre of innocent children and women in Gaza. For this to happen, we must first see that just and sincere efforts are exerted to end the conflicts, the Russia-Ukraine war in particular, which deeply saddens people and waste the resources of countries.

For this to happen, we must first see that the riches of societies, which have been exploited and whose dignities have been trampled for centuries, are used for their own future, prosperity and security. In short, we must ensure that all the countries, institutions and individuals in the world unite around common values and principles.

 

 

 

We as Türkiye represent a different place, a different mission and a different understanding within this picture of the world. We as the state and the nation not only endeavor to bring our efforts we have been exerting for our own security and prosperity to fruition. But with an understanding that we cannot feel at peace until a climate of peace prevails in our region and the world, we wish for the same standards for everyone.

With this understanding, we endeavor to bring the peace efforts in our region to fruition. We advance our relations with our friends in every area. Our hearts are saddened by the troubles of our brothers and sisters. We support every effort aimed at preparing the world for a better, fairer and more prosperous future.

 

 

 

 

“THE UNJUST AND UNBALANCED GLOBAL ADMINISTRATION SYSTEM IS AT ITS LAST STRUGGLES”

We constantly consolidate our determination and efforts in a period during which our Republic is completing its first century, stepping into a new era that we call the Century of Türkiye and aiming for bigger goals. We believe that the persecutions of oppressors will not last forever. We believe that the unjust and unbalanced global administration system is at its last struggles. We believe that the voice of the oppressed will be spread to every inch of the entire world, and that these cries will grow bigger and turn into the common conscience of the humanity. As a matter of fact, we see that Türkiye’s statements on and attitudes towards the whole humanity as well as its own citizens, friends, brothers and sisters capture more and more hearts each passing day.

My glorious nation, obviously, we continuously face new challenges, new problems and new setbacks on this trying path. The aim of the prevention of building the great and strong Türkiye lies behind the challenges we are faced with in many areas, from the fight against terror to economic traps. As long as we as the country continue to use our own potential and means in an efficient manner, this struggle will get even tougher.

 

 

 

 

That is so because, Türkiye’s growth means the foiling of the schemes of those, who freely roam our near environ because of our centuries-long stumbles. That we grow stronger means the ending of the orders of those, who use as a means, exploit and oppress all the others for the sake of their own prosperity and security. That our voice is further listened to means the strengthening of the quests for rights, justice, freedom and conscience all across the world.

 

 

 

 

Our nation has not hesitated to pay price, make sacrifice and assume responsibility to achieve its own goals in any period of its history. The strong stance displayed by our nation against many critical incidents in the past 21 years shows that this determination continues today as well.

“THE RISE OF OUR STAR-CRESCENT FLAG WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE”

 

 

 

I would like to reiterate from here. As long as our nation defends its unity, solidarity and brotherhood, with Allah’s permission, no one will ever be able to divide us. As long as our state implements the vision of the Century of Türkiye, the next stage of our goals for 2023, with Allah’s permission, the rise of our star-crescent flag will always continue.

 

 

 

 

As long as our political, economic, military and diplomatic achievements continue to reassure our friends and to scare our foes, the fogs in front us will further disappear. In short, as long as we do not compromise our independence and future, no one will be able to block our sacred march.

 

 

 

In the past, we wasted a lot of time, a lot of energy and a lot of people against the powers of tutelage, putschists, terrorist organizations, political and social engineering projects, each of which inflicted as a means of imperialists upon us. From now on, we neither buy these tricks, nor have any intention to pay such heavy prices. It has been long since we separated our ways with those, who deprived our country of its historical legacy and the means it had to have by keeping it occupied with its internal problems. That is what our motto, ‘One Nation, One Flag, One State, One Homeland,’ which we repeat at every opportunity, actually means.

2024 will inshallah be a year in which we will leave behind the troublesome period, which began with the coup attempt, grew bigger with the COVID-19 pandemic and got deepened with the conflicts in our region, and will lock in on our targets. In a period during which global crises increasingly continue, we will once again show our difference, and raise the star of Türkiye, which produces, generates jobs, grows bigger and develops.

 

 

 

The goals for 2023 were only a start, we are commencing our real rise with the Century of Türkiye, with 2024. We wholeheartedly believe that we, together with your support, will be victorious in this struggle.

Holding a joint press conference with President Radev of Bulgaria, President Erdoğan said: “We are in a period when both the Balkans and the global system face great challenges. Therefore, we believe our solidarity as two NATO allies should be stronger than ever.”

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a joint press conference with President Rumen Radev of Bulgaria.

“During today’s talks, we discussed our developing and deepening relations as two neighborly countries. We are in a period when both the Balkans and the global system face great challenges. Therefore, we believe our solidarity as two NATO allies should be stronger than ever. We have reaffirmed our shared will to further advance our relations on a bilateral, regional and global scale.”

“OUR BILATERAL TRADE GOAL IS $10 BILLION”

Noting that they also discussed economic and trade relations as well as effective cooperation on managing irregular migration, President Erdoğan said: “Last year, our bilateral trade volume reached $6 billion. We will boost our efforts to achieve our shared goal of $10 billion as soon as possible.”

“Our cooperation will further advance with the completion of the border gates on the Bulgarian side, and especially with the strengthening of the food inspection infrastructure,” President Erdoğan said. “I would like to take this occasion to thank once again to President Radev for his support to our businessmen, who have invested over €2.5 billion in Bulgaria. Cooperation opportunities on energy security were also on our agenda.”

Stating that the Bulgarian Turks constitute a strong bridge between Türkiye and Bulgaria, President Erdoğan said: “As you all know, I pay special attention to protect our shared cultural heritage. In this spirit, we restored and reopened the Iron Church in Balat in 2018. It is our sincere wish that the Ibrahim Pasha Mosque in Razgrad be restored and reopened for prayer as soon as possible.”

Noting that bilateral visits will contribute to deepening the neighborly relations, President Erdoğan said: “On behalf of myself and my nation, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people of Bulgaria, our friend and ally. I hope President Radev’s visit will lead to auspicious results for our countries and region.”

President Erdoğan meets with President Biden of the U.S.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with President Joe Biden of the U.S. on the sidelines of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Bali, Indonesia.

 

Bilateral relations, particularly trade and security issues, were discussed during the meeting.

U.S. President Biden offered condolences for those killed in the terrorist attack on Istanbul’s İstiklal Street.

During the meeting, which addressed regional developments as well, U.S. President Biden thanked President Erdoğan for his efforts that led to the resumption of the grain shipment following the resolution of the problem in the grain corridor between Russia and Ukraine.

Noting that the U.S. administration will continue to support the process regarding the F16s, U.S. President Biden described Türkiye as an important actor in Sweden’s NATO membership process.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered a speech at the centenary celebrations of the 30 August 1922-2022 Great Victory and a mass opening in Kütahya.

“Sultan Alparslan defeated the larger army of the proud ruler of Byzantine, Diogenes, in Malazgirt, and opened the doors of Anatolia to our nation. With the National Struggle, we have declared once again to those, who tried for centuries to drive us out of these lands with unending grudge and rage, that Anatolia is our eternal homeland,” President Erdoğan said.

 

 

“WE LAUNCHED A DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE THAT COMPLETED TÜRKİYE’S INFRASTRUCTURAL SHORTCOMINGS”

“After the Second World War, countries, which entered the race for development and democracy under much harder conditions than Türkiye, made progress in a short time while Türkiye kept treading water because of the coups that took place every ten year,” President Erdoğan said. “Surely, this was not solely caused by our own shortcomings and mistakes. The mechanisms, established to hold Türkiye back in all areas, were so powerful that well-intentioned attempts fell short of overcoming them. We remember with admiration the development efforts by the late Menderes, the late Özal, and the national stance of the late Erbakan and the late Türkeş,” President Erdoğan noted.

“When we came into power, we took over a Türkiye, whose infrastructure had been neglected for two centuries, whose democracy was weak, whose economy was poor, whose political and military power was constantly grinded down,” President Erdoğan said, and added: “We got to work at once. We have launched a great development initiative that completed Türkiye’s two-century-old infrastructural shortcomings in 20 years. Lors de son discours, il a dit : « Bien que le secteur de la construction soit l’un des secteurs les plus affectés par la crise économique mondiale, nous sommes heureux que nos entreprises continuent de représenter notre pays avec succès. Bien sûr, malgré le nombre relativement haut de nos entreprises, je tiens à souligner que la part que nous recevons des revenus des contrats internationaux n’est pas encore au niveau souhaité. Le potentiel de notre pays, la force de nos entreprises, les capacités de notre peuple sont favorables pour que nous ayons une part beaucoup plus importante de ce gros gâteau, qui dépasse 420 milliards de dollars par an au total. »
