On May 29, 2024, on the frameworks of the Third Ministerial Meeting “Central Asia – Italy” in Rome, a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Central Asian countries took place with the leadership of more than 30 influential Italian companies, including Ansaldio Energia, IVECO Group, MERMEC, SAIPEM, SACE and others.

During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan S. Muhriddin presented the investment opportunities and economic potential of our country in the fields of hydropower, industry, natural resources, tourism and etc.

On May 2, 2024, the preparatory meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for the upcoming 15th Session of the Islamic Summit Conference was held in Banjul, Republic of Gambia.

The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan led by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Ismatullo Nasredin took part at this meeting.

On April 14, 2024, on the sidelines of the second ministerial meeting on the Strategic Dialogue “Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf – Central Asia” in Tashkent, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.

The Ministers discussed a number of issues of bilateral relations and prospects of cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations.

The parties also considered issues related to the preparation of the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Tajikistan.

On March 5, 2024, on the sidelines of The Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the city of Jeddah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

 

 

 

 

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral and multilateral relations between Tajikistan and Iran, as well as cooperation within the framework of international and regional organizations.

At the same time, global and regional issues, including the current situation in Palestine, were discussed.

On February 29, 2024, on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye Hakan Fidan.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the process of expanding bilateral relations, especially in the fields of politics, security, education and economy.

On November 28, 2023, in Bishkek, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Farhod Salim took part and delivered a speech at the 13th meeting of Deputy Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Central Asian countries, which was organized by the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia.

 

 

 

During the meeting, the participants discussed topics related to the need for collective action to combat the threats and challenges of our time, including terrorism and extremism, drug trafficking, organized crime, climate change and other topical issues.

 

 

 

The Deputy Minister drew the attention of the meeting participants to the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan to strengthen peace and stability in the country and the region, to combat the challenges of modernity and Tajikistan’s contribution to promoting the water and climate agenda.

The importance of expanding cooperation between the Central Asian countries, especially within the framework of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, was also stressed.

On November 1st, 2023, the 16th Session of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Cooperation Forum “Central Asia – the Republic of Korea” was held in Ashgabat city, which was attended by the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sirojiddin Muhriddin.

 

 

 

 

During his speech, the head of the Tajik delegation shared the country’s vision of expanding bilateral and multilateral cooperation, strengthening cooperation and sustainable development within this effective format.

 

 

 

 

On the sidelines of the Cooperation Forum, six thematic sessions were held in the areas of transport and logistics, health and medicine, environmental protection and climate change, information and communication technologies, science and education, as well as tourism in in-person and virtual formats.

The meeting participants exchanged views on important issues on the agenda, the development of mutually beneficial cooperation and the implementation of joint projects.

 

 

 

 

As a result of the meeting, the Joint Statement of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the Work Plan of the Secretariat of the Central Asia-Republic of Korea Cooperation Forum for 2024 were adopted.

On October 31st, 2023, in Ashgabat city, within the working visit, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Park Jin.

 

 

 

 

During the meeting, issues related to the expansion of bilateral relations in various fields, as well as the strengthening of the legal framework were discussed.

 

 

 

 

The parties stressed the further expansion of trade, economic, investment, scientific and technical relations, the expansion of inter-parliamentary connection, cooperation in the fields of industry and energy, culture and tourism, labor migration and strengthening interaction within international and regional organizations.

​​​​​​​On October 31, 2023, in Ashgabat Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan H.E. Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin participated and addressed the OSCE Secretary General + Central Asia Foreign Ministers Forum.

 

 

 

 

In his statement, Minister Muhriddin elaborated on the position of the Government of Tajikistan regarding key issues of cooperation within the OSCE three dimensions of comprehensive security approach – the politico-military, the economic-environmental and the human, and stressed the need to take joint measures to strengthen security in the OSCE area.
