On April 28, 2025 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Sirojiddin Muhriddin received the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Ms. Pia Kauma and the delegation of OSCE parliamentarians.

A wide range of issues of cooperation within the OSCE framework was discussed at the meeting.

In this context, the delegations expressed their readiness to use ample opportunities to intensify cooperation in all three dimensions of the OSCE comprehensive security approach – the military-political, the economic-environmental and the human.

On June 5, 2024 in Beirut President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Lebanon Nabih Mostapha Berry received Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Lebanon Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on ways to strengthen cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries. In this context, the need for the creation of Interparliamentary Friendship Groups and establishing cooperation between the committees of the Parliaments of the two countries was emphasized.

On May 2, 2024, another initiative of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon, the proclamation of the “International Day of the Markhor” through the relevant resolution was adopted unanimously by the General Assembly of the United Nations.

The resolution recognizes the urgent need to address the unprecedented global decline in biodiversity, emphasizing the preservation of the Markhor and its natural habitat as an ecological imperative. The resolution also underscores the significance of international and regional cooperation in conserving the Markhor, recognizing national and regional initiatives already underway.

With the adoption of this resolution, May 24 was declared the International Day of the Markhor.

It also takes note of the upcoming, Ninth World Conference on Mountain Ungulates, to be held in Dushanbe from 12 to 15 October 2024.

The Markhor (Capra falconeri) is an iconic and ecologically significant species found across the mountainous regions of Central Asia and South Asia, including Tajikistan, Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. The Markhor plays a crucial role in ecosystems, biodiversity, and tourism of the local economies, and understanding its conservation at the global level is important, considering that this species is on the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) committed a historical mistake through adopting the recommendation and resolution regarding Türkiye on 12 October 2023.

 

 

 

With this initiative, PACE is instrumentalizing judicial processes for politics and attempting to close the channels of dialogue. This is against the democratic values that constitute the reason for the existence of the PACE.

This irresponsibility of the PACE aimed at gaining visibility will be remembered with remorse in the future.

 

 

 

 

Türkiye, which is a founding member of the Council of Europe, regrets that the organization’s advisory body PACE has moved so far away from its objectives and values.

On September 1, 2023, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution entitled “The Follow-up to the United Nations Conference on the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the Implementation of the Objectives of the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028, which was co-facilitated by the Republic of Tajikistan, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Republic of Senegal.

 

 

 

Initially, this initiative was proposed by the Founder of National Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Emomali Rahmon during the UN Water Conference held on March 22-24, 2023 in New York.

 

 

 

 

The resolution emphasizes the importance of strengthening international cooperation at all levels to implement the goals and objectives related to water and sanitation of the 2030 Agenda, especially for developing countries.

In the operative paragraph, this resolution decides, in addition to the convening of the UN 2028 Water Conference in Tajikistan, to convene the UN Water Conference to Accelerate the Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal in 2026.

In addition, the United Nations General Assembly requests the Secretary-General to present a United Nations system-wide water and sanitation strategy in consultation with Member States before the end of the seventy-eighth session of the General Assembly.

In accordance with the resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005, today, on the occasion of the “International Holocaust Remembrance Day” we commemorate with respect millions of Jews, Roma people, disabled persons as well as all targeted groups, who were systematically murdered by the Nazi regime and its collaborators.

Türkiye, which embraced many Jews fleeing the Nazi atrocities during the Second World War, continues to be a safe haven for millions of people who have been persecuted in different parts of the world today. We also take this occasion to honor the memories of the Turkish diplomats who saved the Jews from being sent to concentration camps.

Türkiye continues to emphasize the importance of taking necessary measures to prevent the increasing danger of racism, xenophobia, anti-Islam and anti-Semitism. With this understanding, we actively take part in and contribute to the work of international organizations in this field, particularly the “International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance”.

In this framework, the International Institute for Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity at İstanbul University hosted this year’s commemoration ceremony on January 27, 2023.

Türkiye will continue to maintain its uncompromising stance against anti-Semitism, xenophobia, racism, anti-Islam and all forms of intolerance, and is determined to contribute to international cooperation in the fight against hate-based speech and crimes.
